Noel Koran
Noel Koran - Opera Director
In a theatrical and operatic career that has spanned over fifty years, Noel Koran has established himself as an actor, singer, stage director, and educator with extensive credentials in Opera, Operetta, Shakespeare and Classical Theater.
He began his career as an actor, appearing on the stage hundreds of times in a wide variety of genres, including Shakespeare, Chekhov, Musicals, Restoration Comedy, French Farce, 19th Century Melodrama, and 20th Century Naturalistic Drama. He then transitioned to Opera and had a ten year career as an opera singer in Europe. As a stage director, he has directed productions by such diverse composers and playwrights as Britten, Lehar, Mozart, Puccini, Smetana, Tchaikovsky, Shakespeare, and Verdi. As an educator, he taught acting at several major universities, including Ohio State University, Northwestern University and the University of Washington and has helped countless actors and singers improve their dramatic abilities on the stage.

Robin Cobb
Robin Cobb - Director, Voice Professor
Robin has performed many roles from the musical theater and lyric soprano operatic repertoire. Recent theatrical engagements include Diana in Next to Normal at the East End Theater in Houston and Orthlinde in Die Walkure for the Austin Lyric Opera. Most recent oratorio performances were as soprano soloist with the Colorado Symphony in Bernstein’s Mass and Handel’s Messiah. She performed the Villa Lobos Bachianas Brazillieras for Cello ensemble and Soprano with the Houston Sinfonietta in March of 2020. In December of 2024 she will perform the soprano solos in the Messiah with the Aspen Choral Society in Aspen, Colorado. Her operatic repertoire encompasses the following operatic roles: Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Madeleine in The Face on the Barroom Floor, Micaela in Carmen, Despina and Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Pamina and First Lady in The Magic Flute, Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Cleopatra in Julius Cesare, Fortuna in The Coronation of Poppea, Gretel in Hansel und Gretel, and Musetta and Mimi in La Boheme. Her musical theater credits include: Desiree in A Little Night Music and Marion in The Music Man; and a series of musical theater evenings performed with the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra featuring songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern and Harold Arlen. She holds a B.A in Psychology . and an M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Texas at Austin and has been on the voice faculties of The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University, Houston Christian University and Sam Houston State University. She has presented recently at the PAVA-Pan American Vocology Association on “Cross Training the Voice” in 2021 and will present at the ICTV- International Voice Teachers Congress in Toronto,CA in August of 2025 on the same topic. Her students have performed on Broadway, off Broadway, on major cruise lines; and in regional theaters and opera companies.

Donna Hinds Sawyers
Donna Hinds Sawyers - Voice Professor
BM, MM, Vocal Power Certified, Somatic Voicework TM Certified is co-founder and Houston Director of Studio Bella Voce, a comprehensive crossover vocal studio business. With co-author Laurie Lee Cosby, she wrote A Most Rewarding Independent Music Studio, published by Scott McCoy at Inside View Press. She served 15 years on the voice faculty in the Department of Theatre and Musical Theatre, at Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, Texas. Ms. Hinds Sawyers is an enthusiastic advocate for Classical, Musical Theatre and CCM genres, focusing on diverse styles and audition preparation. Her students can be seen on Broadway, National and World Tours, and in theatres across America.
Geoge Hogan
George Hogan - Voice Professor
George Hogan is an esteemed international operatic bass and dedicated voice teacher with a remarkable career spanning over four decades. Celebrated for his powerful, resonant voice and compelling stage presence, Hogan has graced the stage of nearly every opera house in North America and some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Sydney Opera House. His repertoire includes iconic roles in operas by Bellini, Berlioz, Gounod, Handel, Meyerbeer, Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, Verdi, and Wagner. He has appeared on NPR Radio and Live from Lincoln Center Broadcasts. He has received awards and grants from the George and Nora London Foundation, Richard Tucker Music Foundation, William Matthew Sullivan Foundation, Luciano Pavarotti Competition and the Arturo Giargiari Bel Canto Competition. Hogan studied voice with the famous Metropolitan Opera bass, Giorgio Tozzi, and trained at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his performance career, George has taught professionally and at the collegiate level for over 25 years. He is a passionate voice teacher with a holistic approach emphasizing vocal technique, style, artistic interpretation, and individual expression. He is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of vocal talent. Hogan's contributions to the stage and the voice studio have earned him acclaim and respect in the global music community.
Penny Hogan
Penny Hogan - Voice Professor
Penny Hogan is a distinguished soprano and voice teacher, renowned for her rich vocal artistry and her commitment to nurturing the next generation of singers. As a soprano, she captivated audiences with her expressive interpretations and technical precision, effortlessly navigating a diverse repertoire that spans classical, contemporary, opera, and musical theatre. Penny graduated with honors from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa (home of the Des Moines Metro Opera) with a Bachelor of Music Education in voice. She received her Master of Music from the University of Michigan in Vocal Performance/Opera. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, where she has served as both Chapter President and Auditions Chair. She served as the head of the voice area and as a voice professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for over 20 years. Penny made her NYC debut as a soloist at Carnegie Hall. She has been awarded the Shoshana Foundation’s Richard F. Gold Career Grant and was a finalist in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
Lydia Consilvio
Dr. Lydia Consilvio - Composer, Singer-Song Writer
Dr. Lydia Consilvio is a dynamic singer-songwriter, oboist, and educator with extensive experience across a variety of musical disciplines. As a Teaching Artist for the Lullaby Project, in partnership with Carnegie Hall and Cantata Singers, Lydia collaborates with new parents to create personal lullabies, bringing her deep understanding of music's emotional power to intimate settings. This work reflects her passion for using music to connect and inspire.
Lydia’s original music combines heartfelt lyrics with captivating melodies, blending the pure and reedy quality of her voice with the rich texture of the oboe and English horn. As a songwriter, she has been recognized as a semifinalist in the Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards and has received multiple accolades for her socially impactful compositions, including the Express Yourself Award and Provost Award from the University of Maryland for her song, “Give Us Your Vote.”
In addition to her work as a songwriter, Lydia has performed her original songs in a variety of venues, including MilkBoy ArtHouse, Vigilante Coffee Company, Gildenhorn Recital Hall at the University of Maryland, and the College Park Outdoor Performance Series. She has also collaborated with rapper Konshens the MC, performing live at One Love Massive HQ.
A seasoned educator, Lydia served as a Visiting Lecturer of Music (Oboe) at the University of Oklahoma, where she taught undergraduate and graduate students. Her wide-ranging experience in both classical music and contemporary songwriting gives her a unique perspective as a teacher, empowering her students to find their own voice and creativity in songwriting. Lydia holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Oboe Performance from the University of Maryland, a Master of Music from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music. Heather Tipsword
Heather Tipsword - Collaborative Pianist
Heather earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Texas Tech University in Piano Performance, along with a Master of Music Degree in Collaborative Arts from Baylor University, where she studied under international Artist Dr. John Cozza. A sought after collaborator, she has worked with choirs, vocalists, and chamber musicians from around the world. Well versed in both opera and musical theatre, Mrs. Tipsword’s extensive directing repertoire includes productions of Into The Woods, Annie, Annie Get Your Gun, 42nd Street, West Side Story, Hello Dolly, L’il Abner, The Boyfriend, Grease, Legally Blonde, 9 to 5 The Musical, the South Texas premiere of Disney’s Tarzan and The Producers. Her opera repertoire includes Carmen, The Old Maid and the Thief, Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Marriage of Figaro, The Barber of Seville, and The Ballade of Baby Doe. Mrs. Tipsword is a frequent collaborator in Houston with Bayou City Concert Musicals. Her musical direction of BCCM’s Alone Together, The Music of Arthur Schwartz prompted Broadwayworld.com critic David Clarke to write: “Musical Direction by Heather Tipsword was immaculately charming. Each number and vocalist impressed the audience, making us beam with smiles and sway with the music. She also provided perfect accompaniment on the piano…” Mrs. Tipsword has enjoyed a long career as a Vocal Coach. Her students/former students have appeared on Broadway, at the Met, and in various national and international tours.
Italian Full Immersion Instructor
Jennifer Nazzari
J.B. Nazzari was born in New York to Italian parents. Her family moved to
Switzerland when she was little and was educated at schools in Lugano before
returning to the U.S.A., where she completed her education at Herbert H. Lehman
College City University of New York, graduating with a Bachelor Master in
languages.
She worked for many years in the fashion industry in New York, where she used
her bilingual experience to good effect, before she dedicated herself to language
teaching in Italy and Switzerland, giving English and Italian lessons to children
and adults, privately and in educational institutions, at different scholastic levels,
including business language courses. She gives face to face and online courses to
individuals and groups.
She created GlobeFarm as a means of offering language services and organising
workshops and tours in Italy and beyond.
Drawing from her diverse experiences in commerce and as a language teacher in
the U.S.A., Switzerland, and Italy, along with her bilingual background, J. B.
Nazzari has identified the main challenges in learning English and has developed
and tested her English teaching method called “Quick & Easy”.
“Quick & Easy’” is a straightforward and practical approach to learning and
teaching the fundamentals of English grammar. It enables students to quickly
gain confidence and competence in English communication and provides
teachers with a concise tool for imparting basic knowledge of the English
language.

Michael Nim
Michael Nim was born in the USA and has been a Seattle resident his whole life. Born into a family of opera singers, Michael has been surrounded by opera and music his entire life. In 2005 his parents started their own opera company, which is now called Bellevue Opera, and since then, Michael has been immersed in the world of opera. As a singer, Michael has sung such roles as Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Don José in Carmen, all with Bellevue Opera, Remendado in Carmen and Nejus in the Merry Widow with Tacoma Opera, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival, and most recently Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte with Opera Classical Europa. In addition, Michael is an experienced voice teacher, teaching in the traditional style of Bel Canto. Michael is passionate about teaching voice, constantly studying the art of singing and passing his knowledge and experience on to his students.

Michelangelo Nari
MICHELANGELO NARI
He studied modern singing, classical singing and acting, with advanced singing
training in the USA. His Musical Theatre credits include the national tours of “Forza
Venite Gente” (Saint Francis), “Shrek” (Lord Farquaad), “Sweeney Todd” (Tobias),
“The Sound of Music” (Franz), “The Wizard of Oz” (Scarecrow), “Siddhartha”
(Govinda) and several other shows.
He worked as a backup singer for national TV shows, for popular Italian artists such
Amedeo Minghi; he’s a dubber for many Netflix series, and sang the dance hit
“Zidane il a tape”, that went gold in 2006. He adapted the lyrics for the Italian
version of the musicals “Heathers” and “The Toxic Avenger”.
He combines theatre shows, discographic projects and live music, thanks to a five
languages repertoire.
