Arrival and Directions to Venue
You will need a well working map app to help you navigate your way through Italy during your stay. Italians are friendly and can help direct you to where you need to go if you have any questions.
It is highly recommended that you fly into the Rome airport and then take the bus or train to Roseto Degli Abruzzi. From the main train terminal in Rome, Roma Termini Giolitti, you can take the Difonzo bus for about $17 usd. Please use this link for information on tickets for Difonzo bus. www.difonzobus.com The bus stops in Pescara and then you will need to take a taxi to the Villaggio Lido D’Abruzzi about 30 minutes.

You may also opt to use Europe’s famous flixbus. Please visit www.flixbus.com for information or www.omio.com as well. Flix bus departs from Roma Termini Giolitti and from Roma Autostazione Tiburtina and costs around $17 usd. You should get off at Roseto Degli Abruzzi and from there we will send a van at your arrival.
While the train system in Italy can be fast and convenient, it costs more and takes longer to get from Rome to Arbuzzo. Train routes can be found at www.rome2rio.com and you can see the various itineraries and links to get tickets. Your final train stop will be Pescara from which you will take a cab to the venue/residence.

Medical Information
Tourists in Italy may access urgent care and emergency help at any hospital. There are several clinics in and near Arbuzzo if you need medical assistance. Please notify a SVMPA faculty member if you need to see a doctor.
You should bring prescriptions, any needed refills, and a dr’s note authorizing your prescriptions. Please bring your insurance card if you have insurance. It is highly recommended that you get travel insurance to cover any unforeseen medical expenses.
Meal Delivery Services
Uber Eats is not used in Italy but you may use the app, Just Eat, for the same type of service. Make sure you download the app for Italy as there are other countries that use the app.
Banking Services/Money Exchange
You should plan on using your ATM card to retrieve Euros while in Italy. When asked, you should deny the conversion charge at the ATM. Please make sure your debit card works and that you have a working pin number for overseas transactions (check with your bank). You should bring a credit card as well. ATM’s are plentiful in Italy and access to cash should not be a problem.
It is recommended that you bring a small amount in Euros with you to keep you covered for any small incidentals when you arrive.
